Please note that as a result of the action taken by the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation Geographical Indications Committee on the 21st August 2007 in aborting the Penola Wine Region by members of the Coonawarra Vignerons Association and the Coonawarra Grape Growers Association, the use of the name Penola as a GI for grapes grown in "Penola Community" vineyards is no longer legal under the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation Act as it now stands.
Only the following descriptors are able to be used as Geographical Indicators for grapes purchased from "Penola Community" vineyards:
